Pre & Aftercare Advice

Aftercare Advice

It is crucial you follow the aftercare advice given to ensure you get the best possible outcome.
  • After getting  your brows done your skin may feel a little tender in the area. This is normal.
  • Strictly NO GYM for around 5-7 days
  • DO NOT get your brows wet for 7-10 days, apart from when washing area as per aftercare instructions, head back when washing hair and drink through a straw.
  • NO SUN BEDS
  • Flaking, patchiness is normal. Colour will appear 40% darker straight away, it will get darker as brows heal, and then get lighter and patchy. True colour will be seen after 28 days.
  • Swelling and redness is normal. Take a piriton (allergy tablet) to alleviate some swelling.
  • DO NOT pick, itch, scratch or rub the area or colour will heal unevenly causing scarring and infection.
  • DO NOT help scabs along by pulling at them as this can lead to scarring and uneven pigmentation.
  • Avoid swimming and sun bathing until brows are completely healed. Direct sunlight and chlorine can interact with pigments causing inflammation and skin irritation.
  • After brows are healed wear SPF protection in direct sunlight or on sun beds to protect your brows
  • In order to keep your brows in perfect condition, it may be necessary to  have a maintenance procedure every 12 to 18 months, though this will vary for each individual

Pre Care Advice

Please follow pre procedure advice carefully to ensure optimum results. Remember your pre care is just as important as your aftercare!
  • Avoid Alcohol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or Coumadin at least 48 hours prior to appointment.
  • Avoid ANY Caffeinated Drinks Prior to your appointment. This includes tea, coffee and energy drinks.
  • Avoid all blood thinners. All of the above will thin the blood and cause bleeding, meaning the pigment will be diluted. This can cause poor colour retention, the procedure will take longer and brows may be uneven and not last as long.
  • Any waxing should be performed at least 2 days prior. NO TINTING.
  •  AHA, BHA and retinoids are commonly found in anti ageing, acne skin treatments must be avoided  2 weeks prior.
  • Avoid heavy and rich cream in eye area the week leading up to your appointment.
  • Botox: Please note that if you intend to have Botox in the eye area that your initial treatment and 6-8 week touch up/ colour boost will need to be completed before having Botox as it might affect the position and outcome of brow procedure.
  • Chemical and laser peels should be avoided at least 6 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Avoid Sun Tanning and Sun Beds for 2 weeks before.
  • Avoid wearing Fake Tanning products on the face for 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Fake Tan will dye your eye brow hairs, meaning we will not be able to give you a true colour match when choosing your shade and also creates a barrier to the skin which will make it very difficult to get the perfect  pre draw template for your new brows.
